Key Facts
- 1 point (pt) = 0.001 inch = 0.0254 mm. PT rates the card, not the holder.
- A modern base card is roughly 12-20 pt (0.30-0.51 mm), which is why 35 pt is the default toploader.
- Pokémon cards are 63.5 × 88 mm and Magic cards 63 × 88 mm — both standard sleeve class.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! cards are 59 × 86 mm and need Japanese-size sleeves around 62 × 89 mm.
- Standard sleeves run about 66 × 91 mm; perfect-fit inner sleeves about 64 × 89 mm.
- There is no governing standard for sleeve microns. Vendors quote 30-40 and 40-60 for the same product name.
- Double-sleeving adds real thickness and can push a card past a 35 pt toploader's capacity.
- Grading submission requirements are set by the grading company and change — verify before shipping.
